Madison Tae Kwon Do School Principles

COURTESY- Students must always bow to the flags when entering or leaving the classroom. No shoes or gum are allowed in the studio. Class comes to attention and always shows its respect for the Grand Master or any other higher ranking belt.

CLEANLINESS- Students must wear clean Tae Kwon Do uniforms with official emblems to class. Good personal hygiene is essential, especially clean hands and feet. Finger and toe nails must be kept neatly trimmed, and long hair should be tied back. Students should be free of perfume, cologne, or body odor before beginning class.

CONTACT- There is to be no contact during regular training. Contact is only allowed during sparring sessions, and only when it is pre-approved and supervised by an instructor. In addition, each student should wear the proper protective equipment.

The standard uniform of Tae Kwon Do is a white two-piece garment called a "do bok." It consists of a loose shirt and pants, as well as a colored belt that represents the student's rank. No footwear is worn.

Short sleeve or tank top T-shirts or sport leotards are acceptable under the do bok, but they should be solid colors and not be distracting. All jewelry should be removed before class.

It is also highly recommended that students wear individual support clothing. Females should have a sports bra, and males should have an athletic supporter for normal class, and a protective cup for sparring.
